CLEANER, CHO, MIX WITH 1 GALLON WATER, SUBSTRATE CLEANER

-A citric acid based cleaner required for washing substrate prior to staining with Elements® Transparent Concrete Stain.

Product Description: CHO™ Concrete Cleaner by
Butterfield Color® is a concentrated detergent cleaner
that removes efflorescence effortlessly!
CHO™ is also very effective for cleaning and preparing
concrete prior to staining, sealing or overlaying.
The etched surface allows for greater penetration of
topically applied coloring materials and sealers, and
improves the adhesion of cementitious overlays.
Packaging: 1 pound (.45 kg) can

Mixing: Mix 1 pound (.45 kg) of CHO™ with 1 gallon
(3.8 L) of clean water.
Coverage: 1 Gallon of solution will clean approximately
100-150 square feet (9.29-13.94 m2).
Application: Pour or brush apply the solution onto
the surface and then scrub with a clean bristle brush
or rotary machine. Hard-troweled surfaces will require
multiple applications of CHO™ Concrete Cleaner.
DO NOT allow the cleaning solution to dry on the
surface. After cleaning with CHO™ Concrete Cleaner,
neutralize the surface by brushing and washing with
a solution of either 1 cup (240 ml) ammonia & 1
gallon (3.8 L) of water or 1 pound (.45 kg) of baking
soda & 5 gallons (18.93 L) water. DO NOT allow the
neutralizing solution to dry on the surface. Flush and
wet vacuum the residue. Thoroughly remove residues
from the neutralizing and cleaning solutions from the
surface. Neutralize and rinse the surface with water
until a pH of 7 is achieved. Wet mopping alone will
NOT adequately remove the neutralizing solution. The
substrate must be completely DRY before applying
stains, coatings, and overlays.
